Healthcare
Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital
Challenge
The work was carried out in a live operating environment with a requirement to minimise any service downtime. Given the live general hospital and A&E environment, access to rooms and areas for upgrade work had to be carefully managed and sequenced by working with bed management and hospital facility departments. This demanded the highest levels of health and safety — keeping the public and staff safe, never leaving work areas or materials unattended, operating strict clean-as-you-go procedures, and minimising dust via alupods and dust extractors — with all works, including the A&E facility, carefully scheduled around the constant presence of public and staff.
