Stradone, Cavan, Ireland, Friday 3rd April 2026

Cavan-based Callaghan Electrical is celebrating a major milestone in 2026. The company marks 30 years in business and surpasses 100 employees for the first time.

A Journey of Growth and Success

Founded in 1996, Callaghan Electrical has evolved from a small local operation into a leading electrical contractor. We deliver electrical design, installation, and maintenance services across Ireland. Our operations span multiple sectors, including residential, industrial, pharmaceutical, healthcare, heritage, education, and the public sector.

Managing Director Kieran Callaghan expressed pride in this achievement and sees it as an exciting launchpad for the future.

“Reaching 30 years in business is a significant milestone for us. What makes it even more special is achieving it alongside breaking the 100-employee mark. That growth is down to the hard work, professionalism, and loyalty of our team, and the continued trust of our clients and partners across the country.”

He added, “We’ve built our reputation on quality, reliability, and long-term relationships. As we look to the future, we’re focused on continuing to innovate, invest in our people, and deliver high-quality electrical solutions across every sector we serve.”

Major Projects and Achievements

Our continued growth is evident in recent major project completions and new contracts. Notable projects include a large-scale (82,000 sq.ft) electrical fit-out in the pharmaceutical sector for PCI Pharma Services. Previously, we completed 1000 apartment units at Adamstown, Dublin, for the Elliott Group. We are currently delivering an additional 330 apartment units at the same location. Locally in Cavan, we are also working on a 100,000 sq. ft. electrical package for a modern metal fabrication facility for Breffni Air.

In 2024, Callaghan Electrical became the first subcontractor in Ireland to secure funding under Enterprise Ireland’s ‘Built to Innovate’ initiative. This funding, part of the government’s ‘Housing for All’ programme, was awarded due to our commitment to digitisation, innovation, and industry leadership in the electrical construction sector.

Expanding Our Workforce

To support our continued expansion, we have announced 10 new vacancies across electrical contracting roles for the remainder of 2026. We are actively recruiting skilled electrical contracting professionals and operate an active apprenticeship programme, hiring locally in Cavan, Meath, Monaghan, Louth, and Dublin.

Breaking the 100-employee mark is just the beginning,” said Callaghan. “We’re investing heavily in our talent and our capabilities. We want ambitious people to grow their careers with us and be part of our next chapter.”

Celebrating Our Team

To mark the 30-year anniversary, we hosted a dedicated staff appreciation day at Killygarry Sports Complex. Team-building activities were facilitated by event management company Dynamic Events. The day concluded with a staff barbecue evening at Hotel Kilmore. Awards and recognition presentations were held to acknowledge service, leadership, teamwork, and outstanding contributions to the firm’s growth and success.

Padraig Reilly, who has worked for Callaghan Electrical for over 27 years, shared his thoughts:

It was a fantastic day and a great opportunity for everyone to step away from projects and spend time together. There’s a strong team spirit in the company, and events like this show that the work we do is genuinely appreciated.”

Looking Ahead: Commitment to Excellence

As Callaghan Electrical enters its fourth decade in business, we remain committed to delivering best-in-class electrical solutions. Our focus is on sustainable growth while investing in innovation, safety, and workforce development.

We’ve a strong order book, a growing team, and a clear strategic direction – our future looks bright and we are so proud to be one of Cavan’s – and Ireland’s - long-standing success stories,” added Callaghan.

Commenting on our anniversary, Minister of State at the Department of Enterprise Niamh Smyth said, “I want to congratulate Kieran and his team on this wonderful achievement of 30 years in business. Callaghan Electrical is synonymous with the Construction Industry in Ireland today."

"Their state-of-the-art offices based in Stradone Co Cavan provide a hub for innovation in their sector. I know the introduction of AI Technologies has enhanced the work being done and will continue to help the company grow. 80% of Callaghan Electrical staff are from the locality, and many have been with Kieran for years, a real testament to this wonderful company,” added Minister Smyth.
